Adelaide midfielder Rory Sloane has urged his teammates to take greater ownership of their ailing AFL season.
Sloane says the Crows, who may have lost fringe forward Lewis Johnston to a knee injury, can recover from their shaky 2-4 win-loss record.
“It’s something like (winning) 10 out of the next 16 games, which we are definitely capable of doing. And we know that,” Sloane told reporters on Monday.
Ex-Swan Johnston was having scans on Monday after hurting a knee in SANFL ranks, ending his hopes of replacing key forward Taylor Walker, who has suffered a season-ending knee injury.
The blow came as Sloane called on players to take ownership of their season, starting with their looming away match against Greater Western Sydney.
“We have been very frustrated with the way we have been playing, very up and down football,” he said.
“Although there were some good patches on the weekend we still weren’t good enough to get a win, whereas last year those sort of tight games we were renowned for winning.
“For the remainder of the year, it starts this week against GWS, it has got to be full on football.”
