Representative forward Dave Taylor will return for Gold Coast in Sunday’s NRL clash against Newcastle after a two-week suspension for breaking team rules.
Taylor was stood down on April 10 after senior teammates and club officials lost patience with the 24-year-old’s repeated ill-discipline and bad attitude.
The Queensland State of Origin representative missed the Titans’ thrilling comeback win over Parramatta but shone on the weekend in Queensland Cup duties for the Tweed Heads Seagulls.
Taylor will start on the interchange bench against the Knights in one of five changes for the Titans for Sunday’s visit by the Knights.
Aidan Sezer (hamstring) and hookers Matt Srama (shoulder) and Beau Falloon (appendicitis) have all been named by coach John Cartwright but will have to prove their fitness during the week.
Sezer has missed the club’s past two games while Falloon and Srama were both ruled out of the Eels’ victory.
Australian representatives Greg Bird and Nate Myles, as well as Country Origin duo Jamal Idris and Ryan James are all fit to play after their respective games last weekend.
The final change is utility Luke O’Dwyer named in the centres while Steve Michaels drops down to 18th man on an five-man interchange bench.
Titans: William Zillman, Kevin Gordon, Luke O’Dwyer, Jamal Idris, Anthony Don, Aidan Sezer, Albert Kelly, Luke Douglas, Matt Srama, Nate Myles, Greg Bird, Mark Minichiello, Ashley Harrison. Interchange: David Taylor, Luke Bailey, Ryan James, Beau Falloon, Steve Michaels.
