Sydney Roosters back-rower Mitchell Aubusson has signed a new contract with the NRL high-flyers, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2016 season.
Aubusson had been strongly linked to the Roosters’ Anzac Day opponents St George Illawarra, and his signing is a big boost for his club ahead of the traditional showdown.
The 25-year-old has been a key figure in the Roosters’ forward pack over the opening six rounds, as they’ve climbed the NRL ladder under new coach Trent Robinson.
Robinson said Aubusson would play a key role in the club’s long-term plans.
“Mitch is a significant contributor to our playing group both on and off the footy field, a genuine person and a true clubman. To ensure that we have him here for a number of years is great for the Roosters,” Robinson said.
