Park new women’s golf No.1, Webb up to 10

AP – Inbee Park took over the top spot in women’s golf, in new rankings released on Monday, ending Stacy Lewis’ four-week run at No.1.

Park moved ahead of Lewis, eight days after winning the Kraft Nabisco Championship for her second major title and second victory of the year. The 24-year-old South Korean player also won the LPGA Thailand in February.

Lewis is second, an average of 0.04 points per event behind Park in the rankings.

Taiwan’s Yani Tseng remains No.3. She was No.1 for 109 weeks before Lewis won consecutive events in Singapore and Phoenix to take the top spot.

Lewis became only the second American woman to claim the top spot, after Cristie Kerr in 2010.

Australian veteran Karrie Webb moved up one place to 10th in the latest rankings.

The next best-placed Australian is Katherine Hull-Kirk, ranked 65th, followed by Lindsey Wright (67th) and Stacey Keating (68th).
