Brogan to front AFL tribunal

Greater Western Sydney ruckman Dean Brogan is going straight to the AFL tribunal because of a rough conduct charge involving St Kilda utility Jack Newnes.

The match review panel charged Brogan on Monday night after investigating an incident during Saturday’s match at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

Only serious cases are sent to the tribunal without the player being offered an early plea.

Brogan was booked for an incident in the centre of the ground during the first term.

It is understood there is behind-the-goals footage, but no broadcast vision.

Newnes was subbed out of the game with concussion.
