Gold Coast have recalled lock Ashley Harrison and centre Brad Takairangi for Friday night’s NRL derby against Brisbane.
Harrison (concussion) and Takairangi (hamstring) both missed Sunday’s 28-10 victory at Penrith but both have been named by coach John Cartwright in an extended 19-man squad.
Their replacements for the Panthers’ clash, Luke O’Dwyer and centre Steve Michaels, remain in the team as cover on an extended six-man bench.
“Just precautionary, we haven’t had a session as yet on the field,” Cartwright told reporters.
“We’ll train on Thursday and make some decisions then.”
Gold Coast go into the south-east Queensland derby at Skilled Park on the back of a three-match winning run while the Broncos have only won one match this season.
Titans: William Zillman, Kevin Gordon, Brad Takairangi, Jamal Idris, David Mead, Aidan Sezer, Albert Kelly, Luke Douglas, Matt Srama, Nate Myles, Greg Bird, Ben Ridge, Ashley Harrison. Interchange: David Taylor, Luke Bailey, Ryan James, Beau Falloon, Luke O’Dwyer, Steve Michaels (two to be omitted).
