One of the standout fillies and mares of 2025 is set to make her first public appearance of the year, with Treasurethe Moment resuming as she begins a short autumn campaign.
Trainer Matt Laurie is delighted with how the four-year-old has returned, following a brilliant stretch that included victories in the Group 1 VRC Oaks (2500m), Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) and Group 1 Australian Oaks (2400m).
She was also competitive at the elite level in races such as the Cox Plate and the Champions Mile last spring, prompting her connections to give her extra time off.
Treasurethe Moment is scheduled to trial either Wednesday or Thursday, giving punters their first look at her in 2026.
“We are happy with her preparation so far,” Laurie said.
“She will have another trial after this one as well leading into the Futurity Stakes.
“We gave her a little extra time in the paddock knowing that she had three really big preparations.
“She’s a horse that seems to come to hand quickly anyway and I think she is happy, rejuvenated and she’s keen. I’m pleased that she’s out training again.”
The Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield is expected to be her first assignment, a race she shapes well for given her dominant first-up win in the Memsie Stakes (1400m) last August.
“She is a super clean winded filly and with those monstrous preparations, sometimes after the spring they are lucky to get three weeks in the paddock before returning for more,” Laurie said.
Treasurethe Moment is a $4 equal second favourite in early markets for the Group 1 All-Star Mile (1600m), with Ceowulf narrowly ahead.
Those following her return can check the latest betting markets for the race as the autumn features approach.
