The Bombers have now lost five on the trot, their latest coming via a late collapse against Gold Coast. While the 41-point margin was disappointing, the performances of young guns Nate Caddy and Archer May—who combined for six goals—offered a rare glimpse of hope for the future.

For Richmond, the outlook is even bleaker. The Tigers were comprehensively outclassed by Geelong last week, extending their losing streak to seven. Their past four losses have come by an average of nearly 66 points, with glaring defensive vulnerabilities and midfield struggles continuing to haunt Adem Yze’s side.

Essendon holds the recent edge in this rivalry, having won the last three encounters—including an earlier-season 81-58 victory led by Zach Merrett and Nic Martin. Based on current form, the Bombers seem the more likely of the two to halt their slide.
