The connections of Dream All Day are hoping that patience proves fruitful when the mare returns to the track at Flemington this weekend. Trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr, Dream All Day is a younger sister to multiple Group 1 winner Atishu and is set to line up in a fillies and mares benchmark 78 over 1400m. While she still has a way to go to reach her sibling’s $6 million earnings and top-level wins, Dream All Day brings a consistent record into the race with two wins and five placings from seven starts.
The rising five-year-old hasn’t raced since January but has enjoyed her time preparing at the beach stable and performed well in a recent jump-out behind Group 2 winner Zloties. “She’s prepped up good,” Kent Jnr said. “She will probably be vulnerable fresh, 1400 metres, in better grade this prep, but she has a big finish… I think when she is conserved early, she can be dynamic late.”
Luke Cartwright, an in-form apprentice who recently booted home a treble at Sandown, takes the ride and claims 3kg off her 56kg impost. Kent Jnr suggested that stepping up in trip could be next, saying, “She’s a sister to Atishu so 2000 metres should eventually suit… If she could take her turn of foot to 2000 metres, she would be very effective.”
