Blake Shinn steps into key rides at rescheduled Rosehill meeting

Blake Shinn will play a crucial role at Saturday’s rescheduled Rosehill meeting, taking advantage of vacancies left by James McDonald’s absence.

McDonald, originally booked for several key rides, is in Dubai this week and unavailable for the rescheduled Tuesday card.

Shinn is now aboard River Of Stars in the $1.5 million Group 1 Tancred Stakes, replacing McDonald. The imported mare, trained by Chris Waller, will be chasing her first win in the prestigious event.

The rescheduling also opens up the chance for Shinn to pursue his maiden Tancred Stakes win after riding at Flemington last weekend. He will also replace McDonald on Brudenell in the Group 3 Star Kingdom Stakes and on Peter Snowden’s Quietly Arrogant in the Group 3 TL Baillieu Handicap.

Meanwhile, Damian Lane steps in for McDonald on Scarlet Oak in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes and will also ride Green Fly for Anthony and Sam Freedman.

Zac Lloyd takes over McDonald’s other rides, including Movin’ Out in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes and King Of Thunder in the Group 2 Tulloch Stakes.
