Aside from their three point effort against Dallas last week, Minnesota has had no trouble scoring points while New England is seemingly incapable of doing pretty much anything on offence in the last few weeks.

Despite this alleged mismatch on paper, there are two reasons to give the Patriots a little bit of hope of an upset.

First of all the Vikings defence has been absolutely torched in the last few weeks with Washington rushing for 137 yards while Buffalo and Dallas both put up over 450 yards with at least 150 of those coming on the ground.

The second reason is Kirk Cousins has been rubbish in prime time throughout his career, posting a 10-19 mark overall in games that kick off at 7:00pm USET or later and 6-9 for Minnesota.

Even so, New England’s numbers have been somewhat inflated in the last few weeks by beating up on bad quarterbacks such as Sam Ehlinger and Zac Wilson (twice) and even if Cousins is sub-par, Minnesota has the weapons to bail him out.

After all, if the production of the Mac Jones lead offence in the last few weeks is anything to go by, 14 points could be enough for Minnesota to win the game if they avoid any crucial turnovers.

As nervous as it might make you, punters should probably trust primetime Cousins more than 2022 Mac Jones.
