Another Throwdown game is on-tap this week as the Phoenix and United get together for a second time.

Melbourne proved too good when these two sides met back in January walking away six-point winners and it is no real surprise to find Dean Vickerman’s side as the short-priced favourites once again.

The Phoenix have toyed with the top four on several occasions this year, but it’s become painfully clear that their lack of depth and discipline on defence is likely going to cost them more often than not.

South East Melbourne lost a pair of close ones last week against the Wildcats and Kings, and although Melbourne does look vulnerable after coming up short to the Bullets last week, it’s still tough to go against United and their recent 4-1 record following a previous defeat.

Also working in Melbourne’s favour is the fact they’ve won four of the previous five Throwdown’s since the Phoenix joined the competition.

Since this is basically a game between one of the worst defences and the league’s best, it’s hard to see United losing two in a row.
