The undisputed game of the round and one of the pivotal games of the season in terms of the premiership race. Liverpool deposed two-time champs Man City last season and the clubs seems destined to duke it out for the title.

Man City have lost just one of their six games, but are stuck in second gear – scoring just one goal in each of their last four games, which has included draws with Leeds and West Ham, and wins over Arsenal and Sheffield. Their UCL form has been more impressive, however, thrashing Marseille and Olympiacos by 3-0 scorelines in the past 10 days.

Liverpool have not yet completely erased the memory of a humiliating 7-2 loss to Aston Villa, but they have won their last two against Sheffield and West Ham by 2-1 scorelines. Like City, the Reds have been better on the Champions League stage – beating Midjylland (2-0) and Atalanta (5-0) convincingly, with Diogo Jota scoring a hat-trick in the latter.

Man City have won three of their last four against Liverpool. Last season Liverpool powered to a 3-1 win at Anfield, but the newly-minted Premier League champs went down 4-0 late in the campaign at Etihad Stadium – a venue Liverpool have not won at in an EPL match since 2015.

City are warm $1.91 favourites but with both sides encumbered by hectic schedules I can foresee a dour draw in this one.
