Despite extending their winning streak to 17 games tonight, Penrith has opened $2.10 outsiders at TAB to defeat Melbourne ($1.75) in next Sunday night’s NRL grand final at ANZ Stadium.
The Panthers had to withstand a spirited performance from Souths to eventually record a 20-16 preliminary final victory at ANZ Stadium this evening.
Penrith were $21 at the start of this season to win the 2020 NRL title and $15 was still available before the commencement of Round 6.
One TAB punter is hoping that the Panthers can secure their first premiership in 17 years next Sunday night because on March 23, a bet of $7700 at $13 was placed on Penrith, which could result in a $100,100 collect.
Another TAB customer is not perturbed over which team wins this year’s NRL title as they have pocketed $31,730 after placing $16,700 at $1.90 on September 29 that either the Panthers or Storm would claim the 2020 premiership.
