Star Collingwood midfielder Dayne Beams is taking an indefinite break from the AFL to focus on his mental health.
Beams, 29, said he would not return until he had dealt with the mental health issues and was confident he could again dedicate himself to the sport.
“I have been on the record in the past about the battles I have fought. Right now, I need to step away and regather myself,” said Beams, a best-and-fairest winner at both the Magpies and Brisbane.
