SAfrica name Kleinveldt to face Aussies

All-rounder Rory Kleinveldt has been selected ahead of left-arm seamer Lonwabo Tsotsobe for South Africa’s three-Test cricket tour of Australia next month.

Kleinveldt, yet to make his Test debut, was included in a 15-man group named on Wednesday.

Thami Tsolekile will be the back-up wicketkeeper for AB de Villiers, who will continue as ‘keeper after Mark Boucher’s international career-ending eye injury on the successful tour of England.

Fast bowler Marchant de Lange was not considered because of injury, while batsman Faf du Plessis was picked after joining the squad during the England series.

South Africa was still likely to keep the same starting team that took the top Test ranking from England in August with a 2-0 series win.

Graeme Smith’s team plays third-ranked Australia in Tests in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
