England lose two wickets in big run-chase

Pakistan pressed for their first-ever clean sweep against England by restricting the top-ranked team to 2-89 at lunch on the fourth day of the third and final Test on Monday.

Despite some shoddy fielding, Pakistan’s spin bowlers removed Andrew Strauss (26) and Jonathan Trott (18) with England still requiring 235 runs to win.

Alastair Cook was unbeaten on 41 with Kevin Pietersen one not out at the break.

Pakistan had a scratchy morning in the field after England resumed at the overnight score of 0-36.

Cook, who was dropped on Sunday evening, had another life when Umar Gul misjudged a top-edged sweep in the deep.

Strauss was trapped lbw by Abdur Rehman, but not before wicketkeeper Adnan Akmal dropped a regulation catch.
