Brisbane coach Anthony Seibold says James Roberts is set to overcome a back injury and play Friday night’s NRL derby against North Queensland at Suncorp Stadium.

Seibold said Roberts had trained strongly this week and was confident the NSW strike weapon would back up from the injury sustained in their season-opening loss to Melbourne.

“We have to see how he pulls up this morning but I expect him to play,” Seibold said.
