Geelong coach Chris Scott says Gary Ablett’s AFL form needs to be judged differently as his role changes.

Ablett is set to spend much more time in attack this season and Scott said on Wednesday that statistics alone probably won’t show his value to the team.

“We are still very confident he has a big part to play for us, but I don’t think we should rating Geelong’s chances based on how well Gary can play as an individual,” Scott said of the 34-year-old.
