Ashley-Cooper cleared of serious injury

Wallabies utility back Adam Ashley-Cooper has been cleared of serious injury after being knocked out in their Rugby Championship clash with South Africa at Loftus Versfeld.

The Australians were decimated by injury in the 31-8 loss with Ashley-Cooper faring the worst.

The centre was knocked unconscious just before halftime as he made a try-saving tackle on Springboks fullback Zane Kirchner.

He was taken from the field in a medi-cab and then taken to hospital.

A Wallaby spokesman said he had a CT scan which was clear.

The veteran Waratah is unlikely to travel on to Argentina for their final match in the Rugby Championship.

Fullback Berrick Barnes is also a strong chance to return home after suffering a chest injury midway through the first half.

Backrower Radike Samo suffered a shoulder injury that needs to be assessed further, and the same goes for winger Digby Ioane, who hurt his knee cap.
