Melbourne are through to their third successive NRL grand final but retiring superstar Billy Slater could miss the decider through suspension, bringing his career to a premature end.

A vintage Slater scored two first half tries at AAMI Park to set up the 22-6 win over Cronulla on Friday night but he could be in trouble for a 14th minute shoulder charge on Sharks winger Sosaia Feki.

The Storm are now positioned to be the first team in the NRL’s 20-year era to win back-to-back premierships, facing the winner of the South Sydney-Sydney Roosters preliminary final on Saturday night.
