Australia have thumped Sweden 71-38 in the second match of their wheelchair rugby world title defence in Sydney, going top of their pool.
As he did in the opening win over New Zealand, Steelers captain Ryley Batt led the scoring as he crossed for 29 tries while Chris Bond added 21.
That powerhouse duo were well-supported by Jayden Warn (seven tries), Drew Harrison (seven), Andrew Edmondson (five) and Jake Howe (two).
The Steelers now turn their sights to Tuesday’s clash with Denmark, who have begun their campaign with strong wins against Sweden and Ireland.
“Denmark play with a lot of speed,” said Batt.
“They’ll be the toughest opponent that we’ve faced so far. It will be a war but we’re just going to try and play like we have been.”
“You really want to do well here for your family, your friends and the Australian public. It’s pushing me harder and just gives you that extra edge.”
