Murray back to tennis after a year out

Andy Murray will return to competitive tennis at next week’s pre-Wimbledon warm-up event at Queen’s Club after almost a year out.

The three-time grand-slam major winner and former world No.1 has not played since last year’s Wimbledon due to a hip injury and subsequent surgery.

Murray, 31, practised on Friday at Queen’s, delayed a decision until Saturday and then told tournament officials he would be there.

“Andy Murray has confirmed that he will play …” tournament officials said on Twitter.

Murray hit up with fellow Brit Cameron Norrie on Friday in a relaxed session.
