NSW hopeful James Roberts has received a State of Origin boost after scans cleared the Brisbane centre of injury concerns.

The Broncos said Roberts would be available for NSW selection ahead of June 6’s Origin opener despite limping off in the second half of their NRL win over Parramatta on Thursday night.

A Brisbane spokesman said scans had cleared Roberts of any significant damage after he suffered a left ankle injury against the Eels while also nursing an ongoing Achilles complaint in the same leg.
