Carlton’s Charlie Curnow has escaped with a fine after the AFL tribunal found him not guilty of making intentional contact with an AFL umpire.
Curnow was referred directly to the tribunal after he was deemed to have intentionally made contact with umpire Matt Stevic during the Blues’ win over Essendon at the MCG.
But he is free to play against Melbourne after the jury instead found him guilty of careless conduct and fined him $1000.
