When: 19:50 | Thursday 10/05/2018

Where: Leichhardt Oval, Sydney

Preview:

Have the Tigers fallen back to earth?
Coming off three straight loses and taking on a more enthusiastic Cowboys outfit, the Tigers will have to better in all areas for this game.
One main area of focus will be their ball control.
In the opening 5 rounds they were up around the 80 percent range and winning games.
On the weekend, they were poor and found themselves well behind on the scoreboard.
One big advantage for the Tigers before a ball has been kicked will be being back at their spiritual home of Leichhardt oval.
Always a tough place to play mainly because of the hostile crowd along with the local atmosphere makes for a tough night.
Coming off a win in Bathurst against the 3rd placed Panthers, I feel the Cowboys might just have found the ingredients to succeed.
Led by the big names, they had a spark and energy which we haven’t seen too regularly this year.
Staying down in Sydney adopting a siege mentality will have them primed for this one.

KEY BATTLE: Luke Brooks v Jonathan Thurston

I’m looking forward to watching the battle between the number 7s.
Brooks last week was terrorised by Shaun Johnson and will be looking to bounce back, however he’s up against the great Jonathan Thurston who as we know will have a never-say-die attitude.
For me, the Cowboys will have what it takes off the back of the confidence they gained from last week.

NRL News:

Scott Bolton is set to be rushed back to Sydney from Townsville after being included in North Queensland’s line-up against Wests Tigers on Thursday.

Two days after being charged by police with an alleged indecent assault, an emotional Bolton broke into tears while reading a statement in front of the media on Tuesday.

He told reporters in Townsville he understood people wanted him to talk about the allegation but he couldn’t because police and the NRL integrity unit were investigating.

“What I can say is that I am taking the matter very seriously and cooperating fully with both the police and the NRL integrity unit,” said Bolton.

“I would ask that you respect the privacy of my wife and my family who are supporting me through this difficult time.”

Bolton was charged on Sunday following a complaint by a female patron at a Bondi bar on Saturday night when the Cowboys were out for dinner and drinks while in camp in Sydney.

Bolton is allowed by the NRL to continue playing while the investigation is conducted, and flew back to Townsville earlier in the week but is expected to re-unite with his teammates for the match.
