Predicted wet conditions won’t influence whether Sydney spearhead Lance Franklin returns from injury to face former AFL club Hawthorn on Friday night at the MCG.

Franklin, who has missed two games with a bruised heel, is taking part in a late-afternoon training session at the SCG and coach John Longmire says much will depend on how the star forward pulls up on Thursday.

“The weather reports sound as though it’s going to be really wet … we’d play him whether it was dry or wet,” Longmire said.
