News:
A horse from Russell and Scott Cameron’s Flemington stable has tested positive to an anabolic steroid.
Racing Victoria stewards have received a report from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Racing Laboratory confirming the prohibited substance detected in a blood sample collected from Mrs Hardwick, trained in partnership by the father and son.
They said the report related to an out-of-competition sample taken from two-year-old Mrs Hardwick on January 22 this year.
HKJCRL reported the blood sample was shown to contain Trenbolone and Trendione (an anabolic androgenic steroid) which is banned under the Australian Rules of Racing.
Sports and Specialised Analytical Services, LGC, in the United Kingdom reported it had also detected Trenbolone and Trendione within the reserve portion of the blood sample.
Mrs Hardwick is not permitted to start in any race or official trial for 12 months from the date of the collection of the sample.
Anabolic steroids became a banned substance under the Australian Rules of Racing in November 2013 with the rule being enforced as of 1 May 2014.
RV stewards are continuing their investigations.
