Once a leading Melbourne Cup contender Kiwi stayer Bonneval will not push onto the Melbourne Cup following her disappointing finish in Saturday’s Caulfield Cup.
Bonneval had an injury cloud over her throughout the week and she obviously did not race up to her quote finishing at the tail of the field in the Caulfield Cup after jumping at $7 in markets with stewards reporting she had pulled up lame.

Bonneval was $21 in markets for the Melbourne Cup 2017 before the Caulfield Cup but drifted out to $51 following the race before trainer Murray Baker announced she will now go for a spell.
