Supercars series leader Scott McLaughlin has broken his own Mount Panorama lap record to claim pole position for Sunday’s Bathurst 1000.
Ford gun McLaughlin clocked two minutes, 03.83 seconds – eclipsing his mark set in Friday’s practice by 0.31 of a second in Saturday’s top-10 shootout.
He finished ahead of Holden David Reynolds (2:04.27) and Ford’s 2014 Bathurst champion Mark Winterbottom (2:04.49).
