Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) arena operations manager Cameron Hodgkins has resigned and is moving to Brisbane next month.
Hodgkins has been in charge of turf operations at the MCG for the past four years, after a five-year stint as head curator at Hobart’s Bellerive Oval.
MCC chief Stephen Gough boasted Hodgkins had produced the best first-class cricket pitches in Australia.
“Cameron has been instrumental in improving the MCG arena turf quality through improved practices and the use of turf grow lights,” Gough said.
“His recent selection by Cricket Australia to be Australia’s sole representative at the ICC Conference on Cricket in Dubai is indicative of the high regard in which he is held.”
Hodgkins and his family will relocate to Queensland, where he will be the head curator of Anglican Church Grammar School in East Brisbane.
