Mitchell Marsh kicked out after night out

West Australian allrounder Mitchell Marsh has been sent home from the Centre of Excellence in Brisbane for disciplinary reasons.

A Cricket Australia statement said the 20-year-old was told to head back to Perth after being unfit to train on Saturday after a night out.

“While the incident in isolation was not serious, he was already on a final warning,” said the CA press release.

“As such, it was decided he should be sent home to Perth.”

Marsh re-signed with Western Australia on Wednesday despite reports he was looking to move interstate because he was unhappy with the Warriors’ initial contract offer.

The powerful middle-order batsman and medium-pacer has already represented Australia in three Twenty20 internationals and one one-dayer.

His played a big part in lifting the Perth Scorchers to the final of the Big Bash League last season, but a stress injury to his back in February this year meant he missed the rest of the domestic season.
