Rain delayed the start of the third one-day match between England and Australia at Edgbaston on Wednesday.
The umpires made an inspection of the saturated outfield at 2pm (11pm AEST), which was the scheduled start time but, before they could finish their walk around the ground, the heavens opened once more. Another inspection was set for 3pm (midnight AEST).
England are 2-0 up in the five-match series and Australia must win in Birmingham to maintain hopes of a series win.
The Australians are also trying to protect their No.1 world ranking in 50-over internationals as England can take over top spot if they sweep the series 5-0.
