Three French games brought forward

French football officials say three first division matches scheduled for Saturday evening have been brought forward to an earlier kickoff because of freezing weather conditions.

The LFP said on Friday that Dijon v Valenciennes, Nancy v Rennes and Saint-Etienne v Lorient will all go ahead, but will now be played at 3pm local time, rather than at the scheduled time of 7pm.

Inspections have been carried out at every first division ground and the league remains “optimistic” other games will go ahead over the weekend.

Referees can decide whether games go ahead as close as two hours before kickoff.
