Bulgaria’s No.2 tennis player Dimitar Kutrovsky has been banned for two years for doping, the Bulgarian Tennis Federation said on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old had tested positive for the banned substance methylhexanamine in a tournament at San Jose in California in February, it added.
A probe by the International Tennis Federation found the player had not used the banned substance deliberately but was ignorant about its presence in another product which he used at the tournament.
His lawyer has said he would appeal the ban which had been imposed retrospectively from February 14.
