Marsh signs for Glamorgan

Welsh side Glamorgan have signed Australia left-hander Shaun Marsh for this year’s Twenty20 county cricket competition.

The 28-year-old top-order batsman was the leading runscorer at the inaugural Indian Premier League in 2008 and has made 36 one-day international appearances for Australia.

He was also a key part of the Perth Scorchers team that reached this year’s Big Bash final in Australia – a side led by Glamorgan’s prime overseas signing Marcus North.

“We are delighted to add Shaun Marsh to the Welsh Dragons squad for the forthcoming tournament,” Glamorgan head of elite performance Matthew Mott said.

Marsh added: “Having played in both IPL and the Big Bash in Australia, I’m really looking forward to drawing on my experience and hitting some runs when I join up with the Welsh Dragons.”
