Hannover fans hoping to catch a glimpse of new signing Mame Biram Diouf will have to wait a little longer after the Senegal striker was once again absent from training today.
Diouf has joined the Reds from Manchester United, but he arrived in Hannover too late to train yesterday after an airport strike in Brussels caused a delay to his flight.
Although he was present at a club function last night, he was forced to return to England today to deal with some work permit formalities “which can only be cleared up in the country of his previous employer”, according to the Bundesliga club’s website.
Diouf, who has also played for Molde and Blackburn, is now due to train for the first time with his new team-mates tomorrow.
He could make his Hannover debut in their game at Hertha Berlin on Saturday with Didier Ya Konan still away on international duty with Ivory Coast at the African Nations Cup.
