Canterbury fullback Will Hopoate has been cleared of a serious knee injury and will be fit for the Bulldogs’ NRL opener against Manly.
The star recruit from Parramatta injured his knee in Saturday’s trial against Penrith and will miss this weekend’s pre-season hitout against Melbourne but will be right to face the Sea Eagles at Brookvale on March 4.
“The leg got caught underneath a tackle … he will not play this week but he’ll be right for round one,” said Canterbury physio James Rahme.
