Australian Matt Ebden has progressed to the second round of the US Open with a straight-sets win over German Tobias Kamke.
Ebden won 6-4 6-3 7-6 (7-2) in two hours and 33 minutes on Monday to set up a clash on Wednesday with Argentine Leonardo Mayer.
It was an impressive performance from Ebden, who mixed 10 aces with nine double-faults to upset an opponent ranked 21 places above him.
The world No.94 trailed throughout the third set, but rallied back to seal the match in a tiebreaker.
Ebden has never played Mayer before and will be bidding to make the third round at Flushing Meadows for the first time.
