Cheetahs centre Andries Strauss has been suspended for two Super Rugby games after making a dangerous tackle during a loss to fellow South African side Lions this weekend.
Strauss fouled Lions lock Wikus van Heerden in an opening-round fixture at Ellis Park and was yellow carded by the referee, who also flashed a white card to notify the match commissioner that further disciplinary action should be considered.
Strauss will miss a South African derby against the Bulls in Bloemfontein next Saturday and the first game of an Australasia tour against the Brumbies on March 10 in Canberra.
