Blue Diamond Stakes Day takes place on Saturday the 22nd of February 2014, with three Group 1 races joined by a number of supporting events and attractions.  The leading event of the day is the $1 million Blue Diamond Stakes over 1200 metres, followed by the 1400 metre Futurity Stakes and 1100 metre Oakleigh Plate.

Blue Diamond Stakes Day is the largest racing event on the Autumn Caulfield calendar, with the Blue Diamond Stakes the richest two-year old race in Victoria each year.  With the prestige of the Blue Diamond Stakes and long history of the Futurity Stakes and Oakleigh Plate, racing fans can expect nothing less than an outstanding day of thoroughbred action.

Along with all the action on the track, Blue Diamond Stakes Day also includes a wealth of non-racing activities.  For 2014, racing fans can look forward to the lucrative Blue Diamond Fashion Stakes competition, together with and a range of dining and bar facilities.  The fashion competition will see entrants competing in three categories: 13-17 years, 18 years and over, and Fashion Duos.

The Melbourne Racing Club are offering a relaxed dress code for the day, with male members not required to wear a jacket or tie on the concourse level and front lawn in the Members’ Reserve.  However, all other dress codes in the Members’ Reserve will still apply.  The Garden Lounge Bar is being presented by Crown Lager on the day, with stylish alfresco seating and umbrellas, live music from DJ Kate Lister, and a selection of premium beers available.

General admission for Blue Diamond Stakes Day is $20 for a lawn pass, with kids under 14 free and just $10 for concessions.  A range of dining and hospitality tickets are also available through the Melbourne Racing Club website.
