World No.1 Serena Williams has continued her love affair with the Australian Open, cruising past Russian Daria Kasatkina 6-1 6-1 in the third round on Friday night.
Already the holder of a record six women’s Australian Open titles in the professional era, the American needed just 44 minutes to down Kasatkina, dropping only two points on serve in the process.
Williams will take on another Russian in the fourth round after Margarita Gasparyan disposed of Ukraine’s Yulia Putintseva 6-3 6-4.
