Tomic beats Kokkinakis at Indian Wells

Bernard Tomic has held on to beat fellow Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-4 4-6 6-4 in the fourth round of the Indian Wells Masters.

In an enthralling match, with Kokkinakis having break point at 4-5 down in the deciding set, Tomic held firm to set up a quarter-final against the winner of the match between American John Isner and world No.1 Novak Djokovic

Earlier, four-time winner Roger Federer defeated American Jack Sock 6-3 6-2 to set up a clash with Czech ninth seed Tomas Berdych.

In other action, World No.3 Rafael Nadal defeated France’s Gilles Simon 6-2 6-4.

The Spaniard will face Milos Raonic of Canada in the quarters.

While Japan’s world No.5 Kei Nishikori’s run ended with a 6-4 7-6 (7-2) loss to Spain’s Feliciano Lopez.

Lopez moves through to the quarter-finals where he will face Britain’s Andy Murray who beat France’s Adrian Mannarino 6-3 6-3.
