Odesnik gets 15-year tennis ban for doping

The International Tennis Federation has banned American player Wayne Odesnik for 15 years after a second doping violation.

The 29-year-old Odesnik was first sanctioned in 2010 for the possession of human growth hormone.

Odesnik was off the tour form April 2010 to August 2011 after pleading guilty in Australia to importing HGH.

He denied using the drug, and repeatedly said he never tested positive.

The ITF originally banned him for two years, but cut the penalty in half, saying he co-operated with investigators.

On Wednesday, the ITF said Odesnik provided doping samples in December and January that tested positive for various banned substances, including steroids.

The ban was back-dated to January 30 and will run until January 29, 2030.
