Ivanovic loses, coach taken to hospital

Ana Ivanovic was beaten in three sets by Madison Keys on Saturday night at the Australian Open, having played on after her coach Nigel Sears collapsed and was taken to hospital.

Sears was treated by medics and left Rod Laver Arena on a stretcher, with play suspended indefinitely when Ivanovic was leading Keys 6-4 1-0.

After a delay of almost an hour, Keys fought back to win 4-6 6-4 6-4.

The Seven Network reported Sears was breathing and talking, even asking hospital staff for updates on Ivanovic’s third-round clash.
