Australian top seed Daria Gavrilova has scored a straight-sets first-round win over Olga Govortsa at the San Antonio Open in Texas.
Gavrilova beat the Belarusian 7-6 (10-8) 6-1 and next plays Greek Maria Sakkari for a place in the quarter-finals.
Sakkari surprised Austrian Tamira Paszek 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 6-1 in her opener.
