Top seed Olivia Rogowska has missed a place in the final of the Australian Open wildcard tournament, falling to Daria Gavrilova.

Gavrilova booked her place in Sunday’s showdown with a 6-1 6-3 win over Rogowska.

She will face Arina Rodionova, who beat Naiktha Bains 6-3 6-1.

It will be Rodionova’s second consecutive appearance in the wildcard playoff final, following last year’s loss to Casey Dellacqua.

The women’s final on Sunday will immediately follow the men’s final between John-Patrick Smith and Jordan Thompson.

The winners will receive wild card entries into next month’s Australian Open main draw.
