Wellington Phoenix vs Sydney FC Tips, Odds and Teams – A-League 2016 Round 3

Sunday’s A-League 2016 Round 3 match is between Wellington Phoenix and Sydney FC. The opening kick off is set to commence at 17:07 local time with the game to be played at Westpac Stadium. The away team Sydney FC are the favourites for the match. View our preview and teams for the game between Wellington Phoenix and Sydney FC.

Pressure is already building on the winless Phoenix after back-to-back losses.

The attack was fruitless against the Glory and the long trip west is never easy. But they have exciting attacking players like Gui Finkler, Kosta Barbarouses and Roy Krishna (pictured above) who can score and create chances so are always a threat up front.

Sydney FC haven’t had any problems in front of goal and have registered 4-0 wins in each of their opening two games so far.

Sydney have been impressive with their solid organisation and clinical finishing and could easily have had more goals on the weekend against the Mariners.

Serbian playmaker Milos Ninkovic (pictured above) was again superb for the Sky Blues.

He’s such a technically gifted player who rarely loses the ball and can unlock defences as he did against the Mariners setting up Filip Holosko to open the scoring.

New Marquee man Bobo has two goals in two games in a perfect start for the Sky Blues.

It’ll be interesting to see if Andrew Durante and Marco Rossi can end Bobo’s scoring run and keep Sydney’s deadly frontline quiet.

Sydney are playing some great football at the moment and I can’t see Wellington halting their momentum even though they’re at home. I’m predicting a Sydney FC win here.
