The Newcastle team sheet looks a little thing with no less than six first team members injured including Tiote with a pulled hamstring, Cisse with a knee injury, R Taylor with a knee injury, Good with a groin injury with the earliest returnee likely to be Tiote in September. Newcastle’s form shows one loss and one draw however this is an improvement on their opposition’s form who show to losses. Pardew however, will take nothing for granted and will likely play a trademark counter attacking formation.

Neil Warnock, who has returned to Crystal Palace for a second time as manager, will hope to improve on his sides early form by snatching at least a point today as he takes the Eagles to St James Park. Crystal Palace’s marquee signing Wilfried Zaha was registered in time to play against Newcastle and may make his debut for the Eagles today.

This match is likely to be a full-blooded affair, as both managers seek to assert their dominance in the dressing rooms. Newcastle are the favourites however, having recruited quite heavily during this transfer window. Crystl Palace for their part are not likely to roll over easily, so expect a low scoring game today.
