Arsenal winger Ryo Miyaichi has joined Wigan on a season-long loan deal, the Gunners confirmed on Monday.

The 19-year-old Japan international has made just two senior appearances for Arsenal last season, both during the League Cup, but he has also featured regularly for the reserves.

Miyaichi enjoyed a successful loan spell at Bolton towards the end of last season, and will get the chance of more first-team action with the Latics.

Miyaichi completed his move to Arsenal in January 2011.
